Check the following:
If you have an external modem, make sure that it is plugged in to a power
source, the power switch is turned on and the data cable is connected from the
modem to the computer.
If you have an internal modem, try restarting your computer, and trying again.
In either of the above cases, if you have tried to resolve it as described, and
the message still appears, then you may have a bad modem. The best thing to do
in this case is to bring your computer into our Service Center, and have our
technicians perform diagnostics and, if necessary, repairs on your machine.
